About

School Policies

The MAGIC Standard: Make good choices · Accept responsibility · Give respect · Integrity & effort are important · Collaborate with others.

These values were introduced into the life of our school not as a separate curriculum or program, but as a beacon calling our students, parents, teachers, administration, and staff to abide by the highest standards of behavior. They are posted in our classrooms and throughout our school, and the Seven Stars of Character are part of all we do and all we are.

Attendance

Education is truly instrumental in the lives of all children, and studies consistently show that school attendance is linked to school achievement — learning builds day by day, and if your child is not in school, he or she can’t learn. Attendance is mandatory: Arizona state law requires attendance 90% of the time to receive credit. Students must attend each day and complete all work required at a level acceptable to the teacher. If a student is absent, the parent/guardian is responsible for contacting the school with the reason; if a student misses more than 10% of scheduled school time, a member of administration will contact the parent/guardian.

Dress Code

  • All students wear the South Pointe uniform: black, beige/tan bottoms or black jean bottoms, with purple or black polo-style shirts with the South Pointe logo (plain purple and black polos allowed)
  • School-purchased T-shirts with the school logo may be worn on Fridays only
  • Closed-toe shoes required — no open-toe shoes, for safety
  • FREE uniforms: each student receives two or three uniforms at registration (depending on family size); additional uniforms available for a nominal fee — current special: $35 for a uniform shirt for every day of the week
