South Pointe Elementary School is proud to offer FREE before and after school tutoring and enrichment to our students and families.

​OVERVIEW
SPES would like to offer more extra-curricular activities to our students and families. It is our goal to provide an even more enriched environment with interested based activities before, during, and after school hours. These programs are to enhance the students' educational experience and empower them to excel in society.  The programs are offered at different times throughout the year.

BEFORE SCHOOL TUTORING
Before school tutoring will be provided for students who need additional intervention in reading. The tutoring will be scheduled on Mon-Fri from 7:00am-7: 30 am.  A staff member will spend time focusing on needs specific academic instruction in reading foundations such as phonics, phonemic awareness, and fluency.

FALL  2018 Before & After School Tutoring Dates


DURING SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
​This program is structured during school hours. The tutor can have one of the enrichment programs and work with students for 40 min to 7 hours Monday - Thursday daily. The class size will be 20-25 students per hour and run

AFTER-SCHOOL ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT (Starting Winter 2018)
There is going to be an exciting change for this school year! A block of time will be set aside every day during after-school tutoring for Math and ELA intervention (1 hour) and enrichment activities (45 min). Here’s how it will work: The schedule will be every Mon-Thursday 3:30-5:00 pm. Every after school staff member will have a group of students. A staff member will spend time focusing on needs specific academic instruction. Students will be assigned by grade level to an academic tutor.
