This weekend I sent home two opinion writing prompts to prepare for the AZMerit test. We take the writing test on Tuesday. For this test, we need your students to be as rested as possible. Please limit screen time between now and then. Due to the testing procedures for this portion of the AZMerit, your students will be required to have headphones. Not all of the students have headphones left in my class, so do your best to provide them.
There is also math homework in their backpacks as well. The only homework for the month of April will be test prep over the weekends, and math homework for the next few weeks.
I know a flier went out to ask for snack donations since we will not be providing snacks as a school. If you are able to donate some snacks, please bring some in and drop them off with the office. I would greatly appreciate this.
Since AZMerit testing is so important, I am offering to throw a party at the end of testing for perfect attendance for the days we are testing. If 100% of my students are here on testing days, we will have a party to celebrate.
Enjoy your weekend!
Today's homework is as follows:
Do Activity 1.5. The page has been ripped out and is in their backpacks.
Read 30 minutes and record it in their reading logs.
There is also a math page in their backpacks.
New reading logs went out today. Be sure to record the minimum of 30 minutes that is the daily homework.
Also, please do pg. 743-744 from the math book. Your students have them in their backpacks.
Please go over the classroom/school expectations with your students. Sometimes over break our brains get mushy and we forget. I want this quarter to be the best quarter yet.
Don't forget to turn in those reading logs! New ones will be sent home tomorrow. So far Isaiah and Saa'Niyah are in the lead with most time read.
The chip process has changed since it is after spring break. Now, students will get 10 chips to start the day BUT if they lose three they will clip down to yellow, five will be sent with a refocus to the office, and eight will be sent to the office with an orange form.
I look forward to all the things that we will be conquering this quarter!
Our March Reading Madness Competition started. Mr. Corey Peters decided to challenge us to read 30 minutes a day per students. Your students have been sent home with reading logs, please make sure your kids read for the minimum reading requirement and sign their reading log.
The students will also be sent home with a packet of work to keep their brains busy. Please make sure they do this and turn it in when they return.
Have safe and fun Spring Breaks everyone.
